• Spectacular French Literary Ball

  I am writing to you from the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square. This is to invite you to the very first Literary Ball outside France, taking place at the Royal Court on Friday 2 July. The Literary ball is collaboration between 5 French and 5 British Playwrights to create a bi-lingual piece of theatre, telling a story with songs. We are contacting you because we know you work alongside and are in contact with people who have a great interest in French culture. As part of our outreach we are trying to target people who have a taste for French culture, literature and arts, and we hope that you will tell them about our Literary ball which includes some of the finest French and British Playwrights. The Literary ball has a fantastic line up with some of the UK’s and France’s foremost playwrights. The writers will collaborate to tell a unique story, one which includes songs that stir up a sense of nostalgia, songs that we all know and love and can tap our feet and sing along to. What’s different about this piece is that the writers will only get a day to rehearse. Ten Playwrights include Marion Aubert, Alexi Kaye Campbell, Nathalie Fillion, Samuel Gallet, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Fabrice Melquiot, Nina Raine, Mark Ravenhill, Pauline Sales and Penelope Skinner. The evening will be an affair not to be missed. Held at Royal Court Café Bar from 9.30pm with thought provoking literature, dancing and drinking until the early hours.
